Upload a Teams Meeting Recording
Downloading a Recording from Microsoft Teams and Uploading it to Panopto
- Locate Your Microsoft Teams Recording
- Go to the meeting chat in Microsoft Teams. You can access this from within the meeting itself or from the Chat section within Teams.
- Find the recording that you want to download.
- Download the Recording
- Click on the recording preview to open it. It will open in your browser through OneDrive.
- Once opened, click the Download button to save the recording to your computer.
- Log in to Panopto
- Open your web browser and go to your Panopto site (e.g., panopto.yourinstitution.edu).
- Log in using your credentials.
- Locate the Folder in Panopto
- Once logged in, click Browse from the left-hand menu to navigate to the folder where you want to upload the video. Alternatively, you can use the search bar at the top to find the folder if you know its name.
- Upload the Recording to Panopto
- In the folder where you want to upload the file, you will see a dotted area that indicates where you can upload media.
Two ways to upload:
- Drag and Drop: Drag the recording file from your computer into the dotted upload area.
- File Explorer: Click inside the dotted area and navigate to the recording using your file explorer, then select the file and click Open.
- Wait for the Upload to Complete
- Your video will start uploading. Keep in mind that larger files will take longer to upload.
- Important: Do not close the window until the page explicitly says βIt is safe to close this window.β
- Completion
- Once the upload is complete, your video will be available in Panopto for further use (e.g., editing or sharing).
- By following these steps, you’ll be able to download your recording from Microsoft Teams and upload it into Panopto.
