Monitoring a LAMS lesson
Accessing the Lesson
- Navigate to LAMS.
- Click on the monitor ‘heart’ icon for the respective lesson.
- If the lesson is not visible, use the menu button to search for the correct course. Lessons associated with that course will appear on your LAMS dashboard.
- Navigate to the Dashboard using the buttons on the left pane.
Monitor Class Progress
- Monitor class progress using the flowchart in the dashboard, showing student movement through sections.
Opening iRAT Gates
- Click the “Open now” button next to the iRAT gate in the Required Tasks panel when instructed by the exam lead.
Setting iRAT Timers
- Click the iRAT button on the left pane.
- Scroll to the bottom and click on the Timing limits button. Set the timer under “Duration for all learners” to 30 minutes and click Start.
- Observe the countdown timer on the top right of your screen.
Viewing iRAT Analytics
- Click the iRAT button on the left pane.
- Analyse progress, chart, and summary table for insights.
Opening tRAT Gates
- Click the “Open now” button next to the Leader selection gate when instructed by the exam lead.
Setting tRAT Timers
- Click the tRAT button on the left pane.
- Scroll to timing limits, set the timer to 30 minutes under “Duration for all learners,” and click Start.
- Observe the countdown timer.
- Return to the Dashboard, click “Opened” next to the iRAT gate, and click on “Close gate.”
Viewing tRAT Analytics
- Click the tRAT button on the left pane.
- Explore tRAT summary for team answers and additional statistics.
Allocating VSAQs
- In the iRAT/tRAT tab, click on the “Allocate VSA” button.
- Drag and drop real-time submissions into correct/incorrect drop-zones.
Tallying Uploaded Files
- Double-click on the relevant tAPP card, click the Analytics tab, and tally uploaded submissions.
Exporting Grades
- Click the relevant section (iRAT, tRAT, or tAPP) and click Export. Alternatively, use the Gradebook button.
Disabling a Lesson
- Disable a lesson after completion to prevent further access. Click Edit, choose Disable from the Select status drop-down menu, and click Apply.
Troubleshooting
Help: Changing Leader
If a group requests a leader change, click on Teams, scroll to the relevant group, and click Change leader.
Help: Student Status
Click on Learners to find a student’s status. Double-click on any card to see the student’s submissions.
Help: Viewing Questions
To view published questions, click on the relevant section on the left pane and then click on Questions.

Follow steps to troubleshoot log-in issues. Escalate to DEO if problems persist.
Help: WiFi Issues
Advise affected students to reconnect to Wi-Fi. Escalate to DEO if the issue persists, using the specified channels for each TBL type.
