Understanding Insendi roles

There are subtle differences between staff roles in Insendi and it can be difficult to decide which role is appropriate for a user.  It helps to understand exactly what tasks each user will be doing on the platform.

Ask yourself questions such as:

  • Will they be developing content?
  • Do they need to provide written feedback on student activities?
  • Will they need to add users?

As a general rule, the auditor role is useful for staff who need to view content but don’t have an active role on the platform (e.g. don’t need to build/edit sessions or provide feedback on activities). The module tutor and module leader roles are suitable for staff with substantial involvement in the teaching and running of the course. The builder roles are suitable for content developers that sit outside of the teaching team (e.g. learning technologists).

Please see below for more guidance on the subtle differences between roles.

NB. If needed, you can assign multiple roles to the same user.
