Adding Term Dates
You can set Term dates on the page below, or Via MedLearn Admin > Network Admin > Term Dates
https://medlearn.imperial.ac.uk/admin/?view=site-settings&p=term-dates
It is essential that term dates are populated for the default dates tab. MedLearn uses term dates to determine when a student has progressed to a new academic year.
This allows you to pre populate cohorts e.g. Your Programme Year 5 students before the start of term. Students will continue to see the current academic year information / handbooks / dashboards etc until the start of term 1. After the term 1 start date has passed OR their custom group cohort start date has passed they will then see the new academic year. This will also affect tutors who will see their student in the correct academic year.
Please note – term dates should run sequentially e.g. if term 1 ends on December 20th, please ensure term 2 STARTS on December 21st, even if the official college start date is Jan. This is the same for the end of term 3 / start of Term1 in the next academic year.
Frequently Asked Questions
No, you can use the default terms dates if appropriate. Adding custom term dates is useful if you have staggered starts for different cohorts. e.g. Year 5 medicine students start their term in July, whereas Year 1 students start in October.
