Creating and embedding questions
The following process describes the steps required to create a quiz question and embed it onto a page in WordPress. This assumes you have the Quiz Tool pro plugin activated. If not go to:
Plugins > Quiz tool Pro > Activate
Creating a new question
Step 1 – create a question pot
Create a Question ‘Pot’. Question pots are a way of grouping your individual questions, by topic or difficulty.
You can skip this step if you have an existing pot you want to use
“Quiz Tool Pro > Add new pot”
Give your pot a name e.g. ‘Heart questions’ and click ‘Publish’
Step 2 – Add a question to the pot
Click on ‘Add a question to this pot’
You can also do this directly from the Pot list using the ‘Add question’ button
Step 3 – Select your question type
Select the question type – for more help with this view the overview of question types
Step 4 – Edit the question
Add your question text, response options and correct / incorrect feedback. When you have finished click the ‘Publish’ button.
Adding a question to a page
WordPress uses ‘Shortcodes’ to insert advanced functionality in specific locations on any page. The Quiz tool Pro makes use of this functionality
Step 1 – Locate the shortcode
After you’ve created your question look for the ‘Question Shortcode’ box. This will be in the format [ek-question id=XXX]
You can also view this on the question overview page in the ‘Shortcode’ column (shown below)
Step 2 – Copy the shortcode
COPY this shortcode, including the square brackets.
Step 3 – Paste the shortcode
Open the page you want to add the question to, or create a new page and PASTE the shortcode in the location you want the question to appear.
That’s it!
You can add as many questions to a page as you want.
